OUR NURSERY

Our nursery is set in the country side between Weldon and Corby in Northamptonshire. We are a small privately owned Nursery housed in a bungalow, next door to a bus park and within walking distance to the small local country park. The nursery is a 33 place nursery that takes from birth to 5 year olds and we are open from 7am – 6pm.

At Mucky Pups we believe a nursery should be a provision that is flexible to the family’s needs, not just the child’s needs so we have a very different approach towards childcare than most other nurseries.

We offer a lot of benefits to suit parent’s needs, in particular, parents on shift patterns.

  • An hourly rate and that’s it! No session times that don’t coincide with the hours you need!
  • Parents on shift patterns can change their hours week on week, subject to availability.
  • Breakfast, snack, a hot meal and high tea is provided daily with fresh fruit, vegetables and milk or water.
  • We accept childcare vouchers, free child tax credit and provide Government Funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds: http://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/en/councilservices/children/early-learning-childcare/Pages/default.aspx
  • Flexible to familys’ individual needs
  • There is a non-refundable deposit of £60.00 per child payable on receipt of your application form.

OUR ROOMS

We are a small nursery with only 2 rooms. We have a large front room where the over-2s spend most of their time, and the conservatory for the under-2s, although the children are allowed to play in the different rooms at various times of the day.

Ofsted guidelines say the legal ratio is 1:8 with 3-4 year olds, 1:4 with 2-3 year olds and 1:3 with 0-2’s. We work to a higher ratio than the guidelines in our rooms

THE CONSERVATORY

This room is for the under-2s. We can have up to 11 babies in this room and we work on a 1:3 ratio to give them more attention for their individual needs. We take babies from 6 weeks to 2 years in this room, but we also ensure the child is developmentally prepared for the transition before we move children to the front room. The day to day activities include messy play, role play, small world play and sensory play. We have an outdoor area specifically for the babies to use.

FRONT ROOM

This room is for the over-2s and we can have up to 18 children in this room. We work to a 1:6 ratio for the over-3s, and a 1:4 ratio for the 2-3s. The children have access to the garden with free flow access throughout the day, and we have a rolling snack in the morning that children can access when they please. The children use our interactive table with educational games, a role play room, a messy area, small world and construction, a book corner and a mark making area.

OUR GARDEN

Our garden is covered by a huge canopy which allows the children to access the garden in all weathers. The garden has been designed to give all the children the same experiences outside as they have inside. We have a reading corner, a large mud kitchen, a large sandpit, tables with activities on throughout the day, a thinking tunnel and physical play equipment. The children are allowed to free play between indoors and outdoors. We also have a separate garden area for our babies which has a small sandpit and climbing frame.

Note to parents: We do like to get messy so lots of spare clothes for your little one will be needed!

Our daughter has been attending Mucky Pups Nursery since around May 2015 and has provided a safe and nurturing environment. We were very happy with the way she was settled in, the family feel was what we were looking for and they have been exceptional at taking on board the health issues she has which can be on a day to day basis needing medical intervention. This is obviously an appreciated undertaking by Mucky Pups allowing me to work worry free knowing that she is in good hands. The inclusion of other activities such as swimming, forest school, trips out and Hartbeeps adds to the work already in place to keep the children engaged. We have found Mucky Pups one of the only nursery's to be flexible in their approach to accommodating the hours you require , rather than set blocks of hours, and being fairly priced this ensures you pay for the time you need. Overall, a happy, safe and engaging environment which is paramount to any working parent.
When we made the decision to send our little lady to a nursery it felt like such a daunting choice however the team at Mucky Pups have made this the easiest move we could have ever made. From the get go their warm, welcoming and friendly attitudes have not only helped our little lady settle quickly (she is most definitely happy and engaged in her surroundings) but it has also been such a comfort in helping us to leave her in such a fabulous environment (she can't wait to go in the mornings). The facilities are well equipped, colourful and stimulating for her and the staff have been amazing in keeping us well informed about her daily activities and engagement in these. I cannot rate all of the team highly enough and am so grateful for everything you've done so far in helping her to grow, learn and play with the other children around her. I know she has only been there a few short weeks but I feel confident that this will be the best choice for her.
Mucky Pups is a fantastic nursery, I fell in love with it straight away! The staff are so friendly and go above & beyond for the children. The sleep room is away from the other rooms & each child has their allocated cot.. This was a big must for me as my daughter likes her afternoon naps. My daughter absolutely loves going Mucky Pups and adores her Key Worker Lyndsey, she has came on leaps & bounds since joining last month. Mucky pups has that personal touch that I've not seen in a nursery before. So nice going to working knowing she's there.
